Modulating Effects on an Audio Track in Logic

Logic is a funny beast and some things which are easy and obvious in other DAWs are not so easy and obvious in Logic. One of those things is modulating plugin parameters in an audio channel.

It’s easy on a MIDI channel; just insert the Modulator in the MIDI FX stack, select ‘Learn Plugin Parameter’, move the parameter you want to modulate, et voilà - your parameter moves under the control of the LFO.

But it gets a little trickier on audio channels. Some solutions I’ve seen involve sending MIDI signals out of Logic through the IAC bus and back again which seems extraneous and requires unnecessary effort to set up.

Let me present to you the easiest way to control your audio effect chain in Logic.
