A Couple More Blends

I’m nearing the end of the list of songs which can be put through this rigorous process to produce something of magical, sparkly quality guaranteed to please -not-all-ears-but-some so if know of any interesting covers, let me know and I’ll see if they fit the criteria.

In the meantime, here are 2 more recent, quite soppy, additions to the collection.

Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You by George Benson and the cover by entirely forgettable Glen Medeiros. I’ve nothing against the guy (unless he’s been cancelled already) but back in the day it felt like as long as you had the money and a reasonable ‘image’ you could get a song released and have enough publicity that it was worthwhile. Maybe it was becuase it was played WAAY too often on the radio at the time, but Glenn’s singing just really didn’t do anything for me. Maybe it did you?

And then we have Bob Dylan’s “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight” which I, in all my ignorance, was written by him; I MUCH prefer the Robert Palmer and UB40 version. There are quite a few UB40 tracks in this Blends collection; I guess they did a lot of covers but they really imprinted their style onto them.

“Red Red Wine” was on the list of Blends but I’ve no idea why (after listening to the Neil Diamond original and UB40 cover) I haven’t done it yet. Well, that’ something to look forward to.

Until that time is upon us I invite you to enjoy this remix hack of “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight”.

And please hold the one you love tightly.
